Choose Your Own Adventure E37
You can't leave this woman like this. You and Rosalind hurry over and you lift the woman off of the hilt of the sword and gently set her on the ground. You untie her and remove her gag and blindfold. She tells you who she is. She is a soldier of the kingdom of Mizia named Cressida. The name of the kingdom rings a bell but you cannot remember why. But then Rosalind's eyes light up. "That is my father's kingdom!" she cries. And you remember that Rosalind was the princess of Mizia before her capture and enslavement.
When Cressida realizes who Rosalind is, her eyes widen in fear. "Princess! You have not been seen for so long! We feared you were enslaved! But you need to get away from here!" she says, panic in her voice. "The man who left me here to die was a warrior from Qurritia. He is probably still nearby!" You recall meeting Rosalind's mother, Queen Ophilia. She had told you that her kingdom was at war with the kingdom of Qurritia. That all seems like several lifetimes ago now.
"Please take her away from here!" Cressida says to you.
And then a man's voice booms. "And who do we have here?" All three of you spin to see a man approaching. When Cressida sees him, her face darkens. She shouts to you and Rosalind, "This is the man! Run!" She grabs the hilt of the sword and pulls the sword free from the trunk of the tree. Then she charges towards the man. The man draws his own sword. He is more skilled and he is armored. He kills Cressida in a matter of moments. You are Rosalind watch this unfold, in a state of complete shock. The man hurries over to you both and grabs Rosalind by the throat. And who are you, pretty slave?" he asks her. With his free hand, he places his blade at your throat. "And who are you?" he growls.
"We are just escaped slaves from a goblin camp," Rosalind whimpers.
You do not want to end up a slave in Qurritia. Or perhaps even killed by this man. You glance at Rosalind. A dark thought crosses your mid. If this warrior of Qurritia finds out who Rosalind is, he might be quite pleased. Perhaps if you tell him, you could save yourself.
What do you do?
